QB Issue Resolution:

“The items that were on the invoice were in fact backordered. Are they supposed to show up as $0 in that case?”

You would not be charging them yet, so that is 0, for now.

The process of Fulfillment and Backorder means you show them what is fulfilled and that is charged now, and other things are not yet fulfilled, or still in backorder status. Then, the customer decides to have you cancel their backorder, or they intend to await fulfillment.

In other words, you don’t issue an invoice for 0, if there is nothing you are fulfilling, yet.
