Why am I receiving a Security Certificate error when I attempt to sign in?

Errors about your security certificate can be related to an issue with Norton 360 security software. This issue will result in the following error messages:

“This organization’s certificate has been revoked”
“This security certificate presented by this web site was issued for a different website’s address”
“The security certificate presented by this website has expired or is not yet valid”
“The security certificate presented by this website was not issued by a trusted certificate authority”

Normally you will see these errors when you try to sign into QuickBooks Online. It can also occur when you attempt to use any secure (https) web site.

To resolve this issue you will need to obtain the appropriate patch from SymantecTM, the producers of Norton security. Use the below link to go to a help topic at their support site which will give you instructions on downloading and installing the needed patch.

You will need the exact text of the error to select the correct solution.

Note: Although the steps provided do not indicate a reboot is required, please do so anyway before trying to sign in to QuickBooks Online again.
