QB Issue Resolution:
I don’t know what an “RO” is; sorry.
A Purchase Order is meant to be used for you to submit to vendors for quotes, and/or for tracking fulfillment of orders you placed with others.
An Assembly Item is something you “build” internally.
Edit that assembly item that you are listing on the PO and there is box to checkmark, that allows you Buy it OR Build it. That is the message you are getting. Edit that specific Assembly Item that you are Buying, because you are not intending to build it using that bill of materials as an internal production process.
Perhaps you set up Assembly Items, not really knowing what they are or how they work? Perhaps what you want to order is done using Group Item. You can read about the differences between Assembly and Group, in the Help system.
