QB Issue Resolution:

QBO allows the creation of a custom tax (i.e manually create France 20% TVA) and also provides the ability to create a new VAT agency. You can create a new VAT agency and call it ‘VAT MOSS’ then create all the EU rates that are applicable i.e spain 21%, France 20% etc.

You can use the ‘VAT liability report’ in Quickbooks Online to get the relevant data to file your MOSS return at the end of the Qtr with HMRC.

Under the VAT tab in QBO, you will see both the UK VAT return and the EU MOSS return sales as separate in their own rectangular boxes.

NOTE: the above relates to QBO only, I’m never used the Desktop version.
